This event is always being anticipated by UKSW students and also Salatiga residents because this event magnificently showcasing the beauty and diversity of Indonesian culture. That is why this event is important for UKSW and Salatiga.

However, regarding this recent unstoppable issue about Covid-19 Pandemic, UKSW decided not to hold its OMB Festival this year to prevent the spread of the virus. So, UKSW replaced their festival with an online student orientation ceremony. The platform used was diverse, there are YouTube, Zoom, Google Meeting, and others.

The hype and excitement felt by the newcomers were of course different. “Unfortunately, we cannot do the offline OMB, like actually meeting with other friends and seniors and doing many kinds of activities, instead, we have to do it virtually online. It feels unreal and kind of boring. I kinda hope I could feel the excitement of doing the OMB activities.” Said Nathania, one of UKSW’s new students.
