Influential Women in Harry Potter's Life
Who in the world never heard of the infamous Harry Potter?
The greatest wizard in the book series of Harry Potter by a British author J.K Rowling. The exciting and thrilling adventure of Harry Potter with his best friend, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, in the coolest Witchcraft and Wizardry School Hogwarts. In his adventure, Harry Potter is accompanied by a lot of great wizards such as Hogwarts’ headmaster, Professor Dumbledore, and Hogwarts’ Keeper of Keys, Rubeus Hagrid.
Not only the male characters that important in Harry Potter’s life. There are numerous female characters present in Harry’s life throughout the journey. However, several women characters have an important influence on Harry’s development into a great wizard.
- Lily Potter
Just by seeing the name of this female character, we must have noticed who this character was in Harry’s life. That’s right! Harry Potter’s mother. This woman was the most important and influential in Harry’s life, although she cannot accompany Harry throughout his life journey. She sacrificed herself and protect Harry from Voldemort’s attack in their house. On that day, Harry’s parents were dead and he was the only one who survived. Although Lily was dead, she keeps protecting Harry when he was in danger, with no physical contact.
2. Hermione Granger
This woman is famous among children readers. Hermione was Harry’s best friend. She was a brilliant and brave woman, who always there to help Harry when he was in a hard situation. Using her brilliant mind, Hermione helps Harry to strategize their adventure plan. Just like in Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret, when Hermione used her brilliant brain to creating a complicated Poly Juice potion in their second year. Hermione played a great and influential role in Harry’s life as his best friend.
3. Ginny Weasley
Ginny Weasley is Ron Weasley’s sister. Since they were young, Harry already met Ginny a lot of times, especially when he visited Ron’s house. Harry Potter had once saved Ginny when she was dragged by Tom Riddle to the Chamber of Secret in Harry’s second year. Although they are not close friends like Harry to Hermione, they always ended up backing and protecting each other on several occasions throughout the school year. In the end, Harry Potter married Ginny Weasley.
4. Cho Chang
Cho Chang is Harry Potter's first love. They were not close friends and they were not from the same schoolhouse. In the story, Cho Chang not appeared for a lot of time. But still, Cho Chang has a great influence on Harry’s character development, as she was the one who caught Harry’s attention for a quite long time.
There are a lot more women characters in Harry Potter’s life. However, these four women are the ones who have a notable influence on Harry’s character development. From this, we can see women can also be a great influence in a man’s life journey, even though just the slightest.
